The forum was slated to start at 8.00am but due to lateness by participants it started at 9.20am. The MCs Selorme Azumah and Stella Afriyie-Ankrah welcomed all to the program and said despite the fact that our numbers were not encouraging we still needed to start since all the speakers were already present. On that note Rev. Ebenezer Essuon, Central Regional Chairman for the Coalition of NGOs in Health, was invited to do the opening prayer, after which Stella Afriyie Ankrah, the co-MC for the day invited the guests to take their seats upstage. Stella then introduced the chairman for the opening ceremony Mr. Frank Boateng, who is a pharmacist and the current chairman of Country Coordinating Mechanism (Ghana). In a brief statement, the Chairman accepted the seat and said he believed it was going to be a successful meeting. He concluded by saying he would give his speech at the tail end of the program and thanked the Coalition for the honour done him and encouraged all to meaningfully participate for a successful program.
The Welcome Address: Dr. Cecelia Bentsi, the current chairman of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health, gave the welcome address. In her address she informed participants that the 3rd Civil Society Forum was being organized after two successful forums held in the past two years.
